Also, I wish the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ would stop being so blinkered with the regards to the Emnes incident. Yes, it was a red card offense but Doyle was grabbing him across the face, that is clear from the video seconds before he kicks him. I really wish you would analyse things with a broader perspective. You are only making light of this, to make a few headlines because Emnes happened to score the winner.

I now come on these boards just to read the comments having a pop at Claridge, which are always pretty amusing. But, as a QPR fan, who have earned a reputation for slating him to the hilt on this page, let's see if we can leave him be for a week.

There's nothing like a forum for debate, but sometimes I've seen people slagging him off and it seems like they've had a go without seemingly watching the video.

I'm not a relative of Claridge, nor a massive fan, if I want Jonathan Wilson type analysis, I'll read what he's got to say, to be fair.

Fair play to Reading, form team and deserve to be up there, no matter how much i hate them : ) theres only one true blue and white hoops. Lets see how they get on against Leiceter and Leeds... but Reading def deserve play offs this year.

As for saying Claridge is worse than Beagrie...I don't like Claridge but that's going a bit too far.

I like Claridge after he went off on one on the Monday Night Club about how Rooney never asked to be a role model and he shouldn't be judged as one. Excellent punditry.

Claridge is the worst pundit on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and should leave at the end of the season. Leroy is much better and should also have a weekly column.

Steve is a local lad(I live in Portsmouth) and I want him to succeed...but he really must get off the 'formation' stuck-record approach to commentary. Football is only partly about what formation a team plays. And if you think about it, the game is so fast and fluid very rarely can you take a crows eye view and see that original formation still in place. No Steve, it is more to do with players...can they control and pass the ball accurately? Can they find space and call to receive the ball? Can they close down and tackle? Can they cover sensible when someone in the team gets drawn out of position? Do they have a great desire to play for the team, to take risks etc. Just look at the great teams of the world....do you think starting formation is that important to them? So, accept that it helps give some sort of shape to help players, but it doesn't deserve the attention you give it. Move on to more insightful commentary

Hi Steve , just a comment on QPR ! just about promoted now but as a long standing fan (50 yrs) I'm worried where they are going when you think of the so called money behind them . If reports are right from today , they are thinking of signing Bullard & AJ Johnson but with an already pretty old sqd the thought of starting life in the premiership with that calibre of player is frightening ,AJ has never made the top grade and is well over 30 & Bullard is now playing championship football . The signs are there for all to see a yoyo club or the manager will be gone before we have time to hit the bottom of the premiership ! These so called rich men will have to learn quick that the top flight is not for hobby owners and that the top flight requires top money and not 40 or 50 grand a week for the mentioned ( sub standard players) which is throwing money out of the window and will see my team straight back down in the championship .The basis must lie with players that are still fit enough to compete if not world class , an average age of 26 to 29 so alot of the clubs players !Derry , Hill ,Shittu and the likes won't make the top grade in fact the only definate top flight player is Faurlin ! so a lot of work and alot of players and alot of money required , but they have to be better than what we've already got and I don't think the 2 named players are good enough to get in the present side...Beware Warnock the reaper will be stalking you !

This is my first blog! Steve, I don't think you like QPR that much do ya? You'd mentioned a couple of weeks ago that you didn't quite feel that they were promotion elects (something along those lines) and were comparing them to the likes of Newcastle last season. Come on!? Newcastle to QPR?! The lads back doors, of course with the help of Warnock, over the past 18 months have done an insanely good job, we've not dropped below second place (where we were for a single week) no other team deserves to be promoted as champions this season (as bias as that sounds) I couldn't care if we get relegated now next season, it feels so good to have success at a club I've supported all my life! There, it’s off my chest.

As a QPR supporter I don't know why our fans get so worked up by ex-Weymouth manager and foot-faced journeyman, Steve Claridge. I'd be more concerned if he was praising us.

I am also a lifetime QPR fan of 50 years plus. In my experience, if I had a quid every time I read about players who QPR were going to buy (or sell), but the transfer never actually took place, I'd be able to buy out Mittal; and then afterwards buy Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal as hobbies!

The only time you can believe what the media say about QPR buying someone is when you actually see that player run out wearing the famous blue and white hoops!

Claridge: Journeyman player + a failure as a manager = a half-baked fool as a pundit!

How many points, in your opinion, should QPR be docked for their financial shenanigans? Do you think 10 would be unreasonable, and, should Norwich go on to achieve the promotion that they undoubtedly deserve, where do you think they should invest money to strengthen the team? and no , Iceland is not a sensible suggestion

What do you make of Sven-Goran Eriksson tactically? He has spent far too much on loan players who are not any better than what we have got and is to picking the players he signs and his 'favourites' despite several of them putting in poor performances. In the opinion of a lot of fans, he has cost us the Playoffs due to his tinkering, especially with the defence which is shipping goals all over the place.

What is your view on him?

If the FA do us out of promotion over a paperwork error from a transfer concluded almost 2 years ago, then I for one am happy to torch Lancaster gate!

I suspect this statement is another irrelavent rambling...and you haven't really bother to even check when the hearing date is as it wasn't reported in the racing post or on a toilet wall in Mcdonalds.

@28 - Of course you should be docked points, if you havent properly disclosed ownership of the player according to the rules then that player is by default not eligible to play for you. Its quite a big 'paperwork error' really. Not if you take recent point deductions given by the FA for 1 game where players where played who shouldnt have been, and then replicate it over the matches Faulin has played for you this season, then yes, you should be playing in another league next season...

Can someone clarify the position re QPR and their transfer irregularities and in particular the timing of the decision - Friday before the last weekend. Ironic that Warlock is in the thick of it bearing in mind the Tevez affair. For the sake of all, including QPR, shouldn't the decision be made sooner rather than later so we all know where we are. The cynic could think the points deducted will still leave them promoted! Cmon the Bluebirds

@SantaBob - It would have to be a pretty big points deduction to stop going up as Champions. I, like you, would like to find out sooner rather than later though.

This season many QPR supporters have found some of your comments regarding QPR's success not particularly encouraging or appreciative of the excellent performance of the team.

Again, tonight this was evident. During the Portsmouth v Norwich game, you mentioned that the quality in the Championship, hadn't been as good as the previous years, and that no-one in the league had competed to anywhere near the standard Newcastle or West Brom attained last season.

I'd like to remind you, that if QPR defeat Leeds on Saturday we'd have the same number as points they had last season, though had let in 30 goals, compared to their 48.

Unlike every other pundit on TV (Gabby Logan, Leroy, Martin Keown, Lee Dixon, Jimmy F-H), who has stated they'd like to see QPR promoted and that they deserve this, you were rather reticent on the Championship last weekend.

I very much hope we get promoted, and that you are able to congratulate us on this feat, though I'm not holding my breath.

I always enjoy claridge on the radio, nice guy, interesting descriptive comments for the play. I think overall blogs by footballers are not popular though, people just like tweets. Most people only like to watch football really video wise.
