An audience with Rehman Malik

Post categories:

Jane Corbin | 13:22 UK time, Thursday, 18 December 2008

As part of my Panorama: Britain's Terror Heartland, I interviewed Pakistan's interior minister, Rehman Malik about the country's fight against terrorism.

He also spoke about how closely the UK is working with on this issue. This is something also reiterated recently.

Unfortunately, we couldn't include the full interview with Malik in the film, but here's some .

Though Jane discussed briefly the role of madressas in the Panorama programme, she did not state that almost all the madressas in Pakistan and Afghanistan are financed by the Saudis and other Wahabi led states like Qatar and UAE, which are our reluctant accomplices in the fight against terror.

The financial support given by these governments do not extend to just the Pakistani Madressas, but madressas all over the world including South East Asia, Africa and Europe.

In the UK, madressas which were previously run by Sunni Muslim groups have been taken over by the Wahhabis, and have become the breeding ground for the western terrorist.

Unless the Wahabbis are stopped, terror cannot be defeated, because for every one Pakistani or Afghani terrorist killed by our forces, the Saudi money will prop up 10 more.

It beggars belief that the our leaders cannot see what is so obvious.
