The AV debate
Nick Clegg having a rough time on AV bill in Commons. Lots of interruptions. Lots of Liberal Democrat ministers, but not a single Conservative Cabinet minister on the front bench, though debate very well attended overall.

Nick fixed it for Nick, because he was a man in a hurry to get what he craved; too much of a hurry for the good of his party and their foibles.

There is no finishing post it is in fact furthest from the start wins.
Imagine a hundred metre race where the winner was the one who covered the greatest distance in the first second.. even if the margin was only millimetres further than all the other contestants.
It's interesting that the 'No' campaigners often quote that AV will not make you're MP work any harder. It's not to get them to work harder, but to select one who has widest common support from the constituents..
