Gordon Brown has often been described as a dark, brooding, forbidding character, often very rude and difficult.
Indeed he's frequently been compared to Mr Rochester - the famous male character in Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre.
Perhaps the Labour campaign organisers were making a small literary joke at the PM's expense today - or the very first venue on Brown's election itinerary, at lunchtime was... Rochester.

It has taken me a lifetime to spot that JM. It came to me a few days ago.
Brown lets alcohol rip, drags his feet on tobacco AND TRUMPETS MASSIVE PAYMENTS TO THE 'SICK SERVICE'. Small wonder politicians make no truly viable effort to improve our health. They need to be seen 'mending' us (without waiting) NO EXPENSE SPARED! That's the Caring Brown way. The fact that they do it by taxing rampant sale of sickness and death, is only matched by the pernicious 'National' Lottery (state scam).
I am beginning to believe the Church about Evil in the land.
