A rumour

News - no, a rumour - from Ynys Mon. Turnout isn't as high as Plaid Cymru had hoped. If true, not good news for Plaid, or should I say, for their leader. Our poll for tonight's programme has come up with a figure of 58% for turnout. Scarcely believe...

The title music has struck up. I'd better concentrate on the job in hand.

I remember being at an event a few years ago where Dafydd Wigley said that he'd fight the Tories 'with every sinew in his body'. I hope that remains the case!!!!!

Nos da i chi Betsan. Where have you heard this rumour? Plaid Cymru's signs are vast on Ynys MΓ΄n and I very much doubt that Labour will hold Ynys MΓ΄n.

I'd just like to ask a question, and if anyone has the answer, I'd be much obliged if you could tell me.

When the Assembly was created in 1999, I believe I'm right in thinking there was an Assembly song or theme created.

I think it was used as the theme for the Assembly election covarage in 2003, and as the theme when the Senedd was open.

Any clues what its called?

What has happened to Caerphilly in these elections. Not one party has been canvassing around where i live.
the only people i have seen are Plaid Cymru who don't seem to be able to do anything than ask people to sign a petition to keep caerphilly post office open, and when I refused to sign it, I get a load of grief from Lindsay Whittle patronising me in the street,

What a great way to promote your party. Jerk!!!!!

Why doesn't Hugh Edwards become Plaid Cymru Leader and then we can vote for an intelligent man to be in charge of Wales for once. Give up your Β£250k salary with the bbc Hugh and get Wales back on a road to success.

Nos da Betsan a Huw, when I voted in Llangefni this evening I had to queue to mark my X, the clerk in charge commented that turnout was particularly high & I hope that this works in favour of Peter Rogers the only candidate on Anglesey concerned about Anglesey. Ieuan Wyn Jones has represented us for 8 years and we have a higher unemployment and an uncertain economic future, he is too absorbed in his our political advancement than the constuency he represents.

Betsan, may I invite all your readers over to

Also blogging live from inside the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, but I may be more able than you to respond.

Also lots of other fun and gimmicks lined up for the long haul.

Toil in the troubled world of politics, or get paid to travel round and experience Wales' beautiful scenery on a sailing boat? Hmm, tough choice. I think I know which one I'd go for.

I just wanted to say, I'm 19 and this is my first assembly vote. I voted Lib Dem in Preseli Pembs and discussing it, everyone seems to think this is a wasted vote, but I completely disagree. If everyone keeps playing to the 'rules' of their constituencies we'll always be stuck with a Labour/Tory government both in Wales and Westminster. People should vote for who they agree with, not on tactics.

Loyal long time Liberal workers in Montgomeryshire are reporting that canvassing for the generally pretty popular AM Mick Bates is being sidetracked into constant discussion of Lembit Opik's private life. Families who have voted Libersal for generations are saying that they will not turn out to sopport a party whose MP seems to care more for Hello magazine than the views of his constituency. If Mick struggles, it will nothing to do with his own hard work abd the respect in which he is held and everything to do with the scorn felt here for the MP

I'm hoping for a big turnout for the first time ever I had to queue to vote and I hope thats a sign that we're sitting up and taking notice of how our country is run, the more people who do vote hopefully the more responsive, ambitious and innovative our AMs will be. Looking for the old wood to be replaced by hard working, driven people who will deliver for us over the next 4 years.

Im hoping that Peter Rogers will win the seat for Anglesey. He seems like the only man who is looking out for the people of Anglesey you only had to read his leaflet! How many party leaders can get 11 people to have their photo taken to back their leaflet? He is the best man for the job!!

I'm hoping for a big turnout, not for any particular party but for democracy. We should all use our vote even if we think its a waste of time, even a spoilt paper is a sign of an effort.
