Sitting in Brisbane, Australia just now, an expat and SNP supporter and very keenly keeping an eye on what has been going on in Scotland these past few months.

I'll be (hopefully) leaving Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ streaming online election coverage (please say you're doing it!) when I'm at work tomorrow morning to hear the results start to come in.

I thought I'd drop you a wee note to say thanks very much for your election blog.
Over the past few weeks it's cheered my rather humdrum life up no end.
For a long time I thought it was just me that could see the comedy in 'The Oscars for Ugly People'. Such things as Bella swinging from a rope (did you see her rather nervous face before she jumped? - priceless)
to Celebrity Top Trumps.

Anyway, thanks again - I'm off now to re-explain 'how to vote' to my wife, she thinks it's just like a pools coupon and intends to get 8 score draws against the SNP.

I hope you've got plenty of coffee and caffiene pills! Its going to be a long night - especially here in Aberdeen with the electoric counting which is bound to be a disaster (or am i just too pesimistic?)

I hate the word blog. I hate elections. I cant think of a worse way to spend the night than reading an "election blog".

Hi there, thought I would let you you know a wee piece of Election Triva. I have read through all the parties Campaign Literature and have discovered, that out of all the parties running in the election, 2 of them had their leaflets printed in England. They were the Solidarity Party and Scottish Voice. There could be a simple reason for this, but why would 2 parties claiming to have Scots best interests at heart choose to have their printing done by an English firm, when all the other parties chose Scotland for their printing needs....I can't wait for the results to come in.

Outside my local East Kilbride polling station, that the only political activist who approached me before I went in was from the Scottish Socialists. The other parties were more interested in speaking to each other.

Unfortunately, the SSP didn't get my vote, but at least they made the effort. If Mr Kerr loses tonight I'd suggest he has a wee word in a few lugholes.

At the risk o becoming a cracked record - is ANYBODY seen a Labour Pairty canvasser at any stage, anywhere, during da campaign? I mean, a proper ordinary, shambling human, canvasser clutching a stack o crumpled leafets and a carrier bag, ie not party leaders and entourage??

Well I'm working night shift, so for once I'll be able to watch the developments unfold and sleep without guilt all day.
