Loving the hyphen today: shopping done first thing, bills paid, sun still shining so a little bit of garden tidying comes next before some more clearing of the decks/cupboards etc... its the small things eh?

Re blog No 1-I hope you find that sausage mincer, if you still own it you could either finally buy the dinghy to see if it would work as a propella or if not you could make some lovely sausages.

Re blog No 2-The hyphen between our birth date and expiry date! I only know that life is very short and seems to go faster the older we get.

I'm having a fantastic hyphen today! Nipped into Brum first thing to exchange a broken Christmas prezzie, and picked up a few other nice things along the way, and a book about how to look after a puppy, and then I got home, the doorbell rang and it was none other than .....

... standing on t'step grinning. What a lovely surprise! We've had a brief catch-up over coffee and now he'd en route back darn sarf. And he's left a rugby ball for Nic's lad and an annual full of hunky rugby types (I think for Nic's lad, but I'd best check it out first ....!)

Thank you for all the tips about tumble drying and the TPS. Not sure if putting pure wool sweaters in the tumble is a good idea tho ....

Right. Off to enjoy the rest of my hyphen.

Missed the whole show this morning due to a lie-in, then leapt out of bed when I remembered daughter was popping in for a cuppa. Not a good look!

Now, this expiry date - this has always bothered me - we celebrate our birthday but every year we pass our expiry date without knowing - spooky.

Well, I'm sitting up watching Danger Mouse with the boy as we have to leave anytime soon to pick t'other up from the airport, which is an hour away!!

However the trip has been successful and we now have (bar signing lease contracts) a gorgeous newly renovated 5 bedroomed house with 2 and a half acres of land on one of the Orkney Islands. Now we just have to find a way to get all our junk up there, I've had one quote today of just over......wait for it.......Β£5000..... I shall be looking to get some more in the next week!!!

Right, according to the website t'other has left Edinburgh,so I better leave to pick him up!

Bit grey down south today, but I had a nice walk into work.

I feel that I should apologise for my post yesterday, it was a bit insensitive of me to say that I was happy to be alive when so many of you have suffered losses over the past few weeks....so I apologise and didn't meant to cause any offence.

I am sooo excited today - Miss CG & her lovely new HUSBAND are flying back in to Heathrow from NZ (via Hong Kong) this afternoon & I am meeting them from the airport......... can't wait!!

So - taking a day holibob & I'm now off to get their house all ready for their return, then Heathrow here I come ........

Ebbs, Your quote for moving seems scary big I know but friends of ours moved from Essex to Abedeen (boo hoo - the only place in Europe I can't get a cheap flight from Stansted to!) about 3 years ago and I know their moving costs were atronomical too. It all adds up as the moving team ended up working 3 days - one to pack up and start driving to Aberdeen. That took them over an allowed days working hours so they had to stay overnight. Day 2, they delivered and unloaded everything - another days work so another overnight stay then Day 3 to drive back home! Hope you manage to find the best quote you can x

My baby brother is forty this month and he's going to the Dog Track for a night out. Not sure if I want to go or not - anyone been? Will I have a good time? There is fish and chips included so this is an attraction!

Thanks Bridget for the lovely words not looking forward to it but feel better with doing the reading then I did earlier this week I couldnt get through it without feeling distressed but as the week has progressed I have talked myself into it and feel better about it now.

Alib - no offence caused it is good that you feel so positive and you should share it, we will all be there with you very soon.

Sezza go go go, it is a good night out at the dogs, my father in law use to own racing greyhounds and we use to have a cracking night out.

Off down sarf tonight for the funeral tomorrow, I hope that the sun comes out really as I dont want it to be dark and grey I want the sun to shine so we can celebrate rather than commiserate. Loved the poem about the hyphen today if I knew about it I could have used it for tomorrow but will stick to the verse I picked instead.

Had a lovely evening on Tuesday night with the new arrival and cradled him for two hours without a murmur, pictures on facecloth. He is a little belter and I am so proud of my nephew and niece.

Sezza, I am officially jealous. A night at the "dawgs" is just so, so fantastic! I've been twice and tasted both sides of the fun: a general entry - stand in the stands including your first bet, fish and chips and a pint - all for a tenner, and also (a Christmas "do" with the ex husband's firm) a full three-course sit-down meal in the restaurant, with a table overlooking the start-finish straight, full table drinks service and even the tote chaps coming to the table to take your bets as you dine. You will have a blast - trust me!

And Ali - I agree that you could never, ever possibly cause offence. We all have to be grateful for what we have and be there to support each other in times of sadness and need, so stop stressing about it woman. You is lovely and kind and everyfink.

CG - take care en route to Heathrow but your excitement is coming through in spades. Big hugs all round at the Arrivals gate, reiniscent of the opening and closing scenes of Love Actually!

CB - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope that everything goes as well as can be expected, but ultimately enjoy the time with family and friends and CELEBRATE your nanna and the new arrival together.

Annie - so sorry to hear your news too. Big cuddles coming to you.

Ebb - good luck with planning the move. You certainly don't do things by halves, and hopefully you're not too tired after your airport run last night.

Pt 2 ....

I've been doing some social media stuff this morning, and am happy to report that business is slowly starting to trickle in!

I'm also getting the urge to write something (fiction) so may just indulge myself later. I've had an idea whirring around my head for a story for a few months now ... but THE most exciting thing of all today is that my yoga class is starting up again at 6 o'clock tonight.

You may (or may not) remember that I was really enjoying it - it was getting me in shape, helping me sleep and generally giving me some much-needed discipline, then last summer my yoga teacher had a personal crisis and just disappeared. They tried to replace her but couldn't find anyone to fill the time-slot she'd left. Well, she's back now and I'm just hoping she sticks around and that I can get back into it again (although I can't go next Thursday evening as I've got a full day of bizziness planned already).

And breathe ......
