I love food and my favourite thing to do is go out for a meal.

My work colleague actually said one day that the place and the ambiance (sp) are more important than the food when going out for a meal, I'm sorry but I just do not get that, surely it's about the food and if you think that way then why bother going out for a meal at all, she said that she would rather go to a lovely place with rubbish food than the other way round - EH????

I swear by em meself, taken in various formats from teas, powders, barks, (boiled to make herbal tea) and tinctures, herbs, natures gift to us.

Is it too late to say Happy New Year? Shall I give it a few weeks and say Happy Easter instead?

I hope everyone is well. I'm trying to work hard, eat and drink less, exercise more and failing on pretty much every front. The trouble is, the telly is so good in January. I start out with the best of intentions and by nine o'clock I'm in front of the fire with a glass of red, engrossed in something brilliant.

Sherlock was just superb. I've decided that my theory about the ending must be wrong - it has to be much, much cleverer than anything I could come up with.

The other breathtaking programmes for me are Earth Flight and, of course, Stargazing Live. Brilliant, both of them. I'm still waiting for an evening stargazing with Brian Cox to be auctioned for Children In Need - I'd have to put in a bid.

Right, I must do some work.

Food, glorious food. How true!

I made a (low fat) chicken sag aloo last ngiht and d'ya know what ... it was blimmin' lovely! I just love to cook!

Sometimes I wish that Nic wasn't so health conscious though - I really yearn to bake endless delights but they're so high in calories they invariably end up in the bin. Maybe I could bake something to take to one of my network meetings .......?

Onwards and upwards. With onion sauce.

Morning all,

Mmmmm, lamb & mint sauce - drool ............. actually, I'm drooling (dribbling) as I had to have a rogue molar out yesterday, I had an abcess & the tooth died so had to go. Not pleasant - I remember Deevs having a tooth out last year too. Not nice.

So feeling sorry for myself, getting no sympathy in the office & now my tummy is rumbling.

I've got a question ..... can someone please tell me when 2012 is going to get better?

As well as having two family funerals in the last fortnight and 'im indoors being made redundant just after Christmas, my mum had another stroke last Thursday. She's now due to start speech therapy and physio all over again and it's like the last two years didn't happen as she's back exactly where she was, bless her.

Having said all that, there is always someone worse off, so I'm counting my blessings - which are many - and send a big hug {{{hug}}} to anyone who needs one.

Sorry - just had to get that off my chest. It's been a very difficult couple of weeks and I've only just come up for air.

Deevs - sounds like you're very busy with the new business - good for you!

I hope everyone had a great new year.
Dirty grey skies here in deepest, darkest Kent here too, mind you the forecast says it'll clear up this afternoon, so heres hoping.
Roast Lamb is my fav too, did one on Sunday and then used the left overs for a sheperds pie with spud and swede topping on Monday, Delish!
Am currently sat sitting listening to the dog snoring and waiting for the phone to ring (hate that). I should be getting the final details of my new job today!! I went for one position but got offered another, which in fairness I will probably enjoy more than the one I went for so its all good! Its gonna be a MEGA year peeps, I can feel it in me waters!

Fairlyoddmother - well done on the new job and I hope the 'phone rings soon. Can you hear it over the dog's snores? Our old pooch snored like a rumbly old train and could be heard throughout the house!

We've been on a detox diet for the last 10 days and all this talk of roast lamb is NOT helping. Can I convince myself that my carrot sticks and hummous are something else?

Have just had a message from im in doors to say he fancies fish and chips from the chip shop tonight, which is very strange for him and not his normal type of request, with a bit added on "I'll pay" to which I replied "too right buster"..... so much for the low fat diet then....

Deevs I will take the fully loaded calorific cakes but can I pass on the onion sauce please dont think they will go together somehow.... heee hee heee.

Gail: yes, indeed, it's all about the food. I have been in loads of places that look nothing from the outside, or even the inside, but if the food is good, that's what it's all about!

CG: poor you - very sore. I would recommend a wee whisky and lemonade, purely for medicinal purposes, of course!

CB: Thank you - I know, it's a bit of a life sentence, isn't it?! Oooh, enjoy your fish & chips!

Is this karma or what, log onto blog for first time in yonks and bloggers anthem on radio - DONT STOP ME NOW!

Not had a chance to catch up, hope to do so in snippits through today, but I'm alive and well and survived the visit of the Global head of service for 3 days this week! Lots of presentations, challenging questions (from her not me!) and being on best behaviour litteraly day and night!

So its been a whirlwind first 3 weeks of the year for me, so glad to back to business as usual and now I can get on with my day job :-)

Dear Mr Christoph Evans of Radio 2 Land,

Firstly Sevenoaks is in Kent and not London.

Secondly it's pronounced Gill (as in the girls name) - ing - ham.

And thirdly and most importantly - Boris Island

The Thames Estuary where they plan to build this new airport, isn't a piece of land just waiting to be built on. To do this they would have to completely flatten the small village of Grain, which is out there on the Penninsular. A village which is home to many hundreds of people, a really thriving community and also home to some of my friends.

The charity that I work for spent many hundreds of thousands of pounds turning a disused chapel into a community centre; which now houses a library, an IT centre and is host to lots of other things. I have had the priviledge of going there to present certificates to residents who have completed IT courses, most learning how to use a computer from scratch.

I'm off my soap box now and I apologise for the delay in sending this, got distracted by having to sign lots of cheques!
