I have to say, I've really enjoyed super-sub Phil. Him and Vassos are just so funny - Head to Headlines has a real Alpha Male feel.

As for payment, surely working at R2 is payment enough - as we bloggers will testify on 18th November when we give up a day of our lives to take pledges for Pudsey.

Gail, I have now!! Wish I'd done that earlier - I've really enjoyed listening to Phil but I've had totally a different picture in my head for the last 2 1/2 weeks when I could have been thinking of what he really looks like!

Hello Chris.

I stopped setting the house alarm many moons ago Chris as it often went off in the middle of the night. I became tired of leaping out of bed to stop it. I always wondered what was causing it but the strange thing is never once did I think that it might be a burglar. Maybe moths is the answer!

Morning all. Belated congratulations on the listening figures Christoff - it's all sounding mighty fine. I'm enjoyng Phil Gayle, and remember him from The Big Breakfast (oh, what a show THAT was. Happy days). Looking forward having our Moira back from Canadia next week though.

Well, it seems as if the world is going stark staring bonkers at the moment. If the planet goes bust, can we just all go back to growing vegetables and fishing and stuff? I wouldn't mind a bit of that.

Speaking of the planet, part two of the amazing David Attenborough tonight. Can't wait.

I can only laugh hysterically. I am climbing over sofa parts, the heating comes on when I switch the water on and to top it all I am now taped in my abode.

They've taped up the doors and put up dust curtains around my abode and the noise is deafening from the drilling ready for the pointing.

I am expecting a shopping delivery this afternoon and they'll have to untape the door, I've let them know.

Afternoon all, sorry for my absence I have been lurking.

MM how are you managing to stay sane with everything that is going on around you at the moment. It sounds like your house is being rebuilt around you. Good luck with everything that is going on.

Australian went home last night after tipping our world upside down so with any luck normal service can resume now. Although the shower has broke and silly me I thought if you went to a well known diy store that you could buy them off the shelf. Apparently not have had to order it and it will take 2 weeks. ***WARNING*** 20 year old boy in my area unable to shower and only bath.... Not happy.

I have also enjoyed Phil too but I am glad that Moira is coming back.

Baggy well done on your excel thingy. Have a victory dance round the office as no one is looking.

I havealso decided that having had the clocks go back and the dark nights getting earlier and ealier I am hibernating till Spring does anyone want to join me?

Hello Again.

Things went beyond a joke this afternoon when the house began filling up with dust which has caused the smoke alarm to be going off intermittently.

I won't go into all details but I'm not feeling well, a nurse has been here and someone is calling to disconnect the smoke alarm which carried on despite the workman turning off the fuse. It has stopped now though but that's because the dust has settled of course.

Off to take some paracetemol.

what would be your ideal company to work for? We hear a lot about employee satisfaction surveys but I wonder how true they really are? This is assuming you still do the kind of work you do now. (or have done in the past)

I probably work for one of my top ten comapanies now, and I am loving it, but other than here - the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ or anything to do with music would suit me down to the ground!

I must admit to feeling a bit jaded this morning as I didn't get a full nights sleep ,seemed to lay there forever. Don't feel sorry for me as I think it's my own fault .
Didn't go to bed early ,a certain fairy that flies through here from time to time,yes that one,think she spends more time on t'other side these days. Well she wanted to know how the York meet went (in detail )so i was busy on the keyboard instead of being tucked up in my bed.
so hence gor over tired and feeling sorry for myself lol.

On a brighter note it's looks quite a mild day today out there ,it looks like we've had rain earlier,but it's a very calm day.

My (paid) working life is over, but my last job which lasted 13 years was event organiser, and I loved it. Prior to that I worked surrounded by books, supplying them to libraries and universities world wide, that was also fun. Have been very lucky really.

Bids-You are entitled to feel sorry for yourself after no sleep. It's horrible lying there all night. I was like that the night before last but slept well last night and feel so much better today.

CSN-I hope you are OK on your building site and that Holly stops barking. I'm off to the vet later with Tom as he is continually scratching and now getting sore.

Sezza-Hope it gets better as the day goes on, I remember that feeling many moons ago.

Afternoon everyone. I only caught a bit of the show this morning so forgive me if this was mentioned. On the subject of moths, those of you who watched Frozen Planet last night will have seen the caterpillar that freezes SOLID every winter in the Arctic (or Antarctic - can't remember) then thaws out and goes off in search of food, only to repeat the whole thing the following winter. It does this for FOURTEEN YEARS before turning into a moth.

Then it gets sucked up into Christoff's hoover. Well, it doesn't, but it would if it lived over here. Have a heart, Chris - it's a miracle of nature you're swallowing up there.

Hi Stumpy, and welcome!

I have a new administrator to help me out now at work, so life will eventually be a bit easier. He's the son of a friend of mine, so it's good to have been able to help him out with a permanent position!

My idea of a perfect job would be mine, but only on a 4 day week... Then I'd be able to get the house straight on a Friday, and enjoy the weekend!

Looking forward to listening to Noel Gallagher later...probably via the computer, as I cba to crawl around on the floor trying to get the other thing to work!

I've had a day of retail therapy, which is just what the Doctor ordered. However, I am a little bit cross - Did you know that Sparks and Mencer don't do navy blue skirts!!! Why??? I just wanted one for work but no they don't do them. There was every shade of black and grey you could image, but no blue......is it me?

My ideal job would be to be a Philanthropist, so my first job would be to help Annie out. I work in the Charity world and trying to get any grant is almost impossible, the applications, form filling, blood, sweat and tears for even the smallest amount is hard work. So I would like to just give worthy causes money without having to ask them to jump through hoops.

I's also like to run a tea shop, so perhaps Sezza and I could join together xx

Hi everyone:

Didn't have a single minute to get on the blog yesterday - great to see all the "dream jobs".

If it's not too late to say, my dream was to open a record shop. A proper, old-fashioned record shop, with booths and turntables playing tracks requested by potential customers. There was a shop just like this where we lived when I was a teenager, and I lived in that shop every Saturday. I was very lucky to be given pocket money each week and I could buy my favourite record ... but it always took me about 3 hours to make my choice! Vinyl is on the way back, so who knows?!
