Well that's it . . .

Chris Evans | 16:27 UK time, Friday, 14 October 2011

We can do no more. It's up to the Dragons on the pitch now. Come victory or defeat, a band of brothers will have a story to tell tomorrow lunchtime. Will they do it? Will Wales beat Les Francais? Honestly, I think they will. Whether they can go any further, who knows? But I think we will at least be in a similarly expectant mood this time next week.

So, enjoy my friends. Enjoy. For The Land Of Our Fathers is on the march and we are right behind them every step of the way.

Peace and Love and lots of penalty and try conversions.

Besides. Can't let them scaldy jambes de grenouilles win. Sacre ruddy Bleu et by the crin.

Now then, can't stop: I've an appointment at the hair transplant clinic tomorrow after a bit of a mishap wit the industrial velcro on me dragon suit. Fancy the GD ringin' me at that time in a mornin' when I'm tryin' me 'ead on. I've a dirty big baldy strip up the back a me scalp from rippin' it off, ow ow ow. Hi peeples

CG - great to see you back, and thank you. Stick around eh!?! x

I've been baking cupcakes for little man this afternoon - they're baked and iced, I just have to go and pipe the lettering on them now (when I know what it's to be!) Lots of 9's I think. I also made a sneaky batch of scones - my faves. Hey ho!

Not quite FNWC here (wonky icing will ensue!) but there's a bottle of something pink in the fridge with my name on it, and it ain't a strawberry milkshake!

Love Friday nights - CLP on The One Show .... a perfect start to the weekend.

Right, the icing won't do itself so here I go ....

Have lovely weekends everyone. Yes, you too!

    Muchos amore.

What a beautiful day it is out there

I can't believe how clear blue the sky is

We've just had a walk across the fields, sat outside the old railway cafe for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, then walked it off on the way back

CG, saw the local riding school out in the sun and thought of you. Hope your friend will be able to sort you out with the old piebald nag!

Off to the Parentals for a take-away tonight. As boy1 put it when Graham Norton read out his text this morning, we'll be having poppaboms with our indian!!

    Evening All,

Sezza, it's been a fabulous day here too, really sunny, a beautiful October day.

CG, Good to read you and sending you lots of hugs as you get back on your feet xx

I was gutted for the Welsh, they played really well and as for the ref I will hunt him down and kick his butt!!!

I've had a really lazy day, which is just what was needed. My first free Saturday since 27th August, so I've been catching up on tv, reading and housework!

I do however have a terrible confession to make, and I still feel really bad about it. Today I committed squirrel-slaughter, he just came out of no where and I couldn't stop or swerve and I am afraid he is no more. I feel sick everytime I think about it, poor little thing :( (sorry MTF)

    Strictly is very good tonight.

    Good evening all,

I have been out of touch for the last week as I have been on a course where it was bad enough getting a mobile signal let alone internet connection! It was in this country.......who would have thought. ;-)

I watched the Wales match this morning amd I have to say they was robbed! That said I thought they did play very well with 14 players and could have won it, so well done! I also thought the players and management showed great respect to the officials by accepting the decision with out any backchat to the ref we see all to often on the football pitches.

I have to admit I am getting a little bit excited about the CiN weekend.

    Keep smiling

    Keith

Yes, robbed, and played well with just 14 men...!!

Sorry for the absence, again... My Uncle had a massive heart attack just before I went away with Annie, and now he is in a coma, and won't survive, they have turned off all the machines...

I deleted the entry on the FB page, as ex saw it on that stupid feed thing, but no, I won't be going to York, sorry!!

Sorry to sound so down, but there are other things going on too, that I can't post on here!!

Thinking of you I know how you feel. Back in 1980 I was going through the madness and turmoil of divorce and my lovely Mum who was my best friend died from a sudden massive heart attack. Sometimes life is so cruel and just when we think we can't take any more there's another lot waiting around the corner.

What I'm saying here is that we don't realise just how tough we can be and we do come through it all.

    Keep strong!

Another friend had a weird phone call from his Mum at 11.30pm, he rushed round there, found her on the floor called 999...she'd had a stroke...

Always best to get elderly relatives these push button things they can wear around their necks!!

I'm sorry for that pressed at wrong time, was just saying JG,your dear uncle wont be suffering or in pain he will be just in a very deep sleep. will be thinking of you ,and dont stay away as it's good to talk..

Well I hope that everyone's had a good day ,I see that the welsh have been robbed ,but played a good game and were graceful with their loss .feel quite sorry for them as they did deserve to win .

The family have left the building and have all gone back to their own abodes ,so i'm just sitting with feet up and feeling a litte jaded .

But I must admit we've had a lovely evening with them all ,and to see the grand children looking more like young men everyday ,and have the bellies of young men.
I feel like I've been in a field ktchen ,what with peeling all those poato's and veg and spent half the afternoon crying peeling and chopping onions, but it was well worth it cos all went well, and everyone went home happy ,need I say more.

aso I have to admit that I've had a few wets tonight ,bt I really do hope that my spelling isn't too bad as I've tried very hard not to make any mistakes ,but one never knows ..

Do you think I aught to quit while I'm ahead ,Ok ,If you think so .

night ,night and God Bless ,and take care .

Dearest JakeyG... I am so sorry for you and your family about your Uncle. Wish there was something I could say to help ease the hurt, but I know that nothing does. Mere words seem empty and trite.

As you can see I can't sleep...but it'll all be ok in the end...my Uncle wouldn't allow me not to be!!

    Hi everyone:

    Just having a wee catch-up.

JG: I am so sorry to hear about your Uncle. So very sad, but thank goodness he is not in pain. At these times words just don't say enough, so can I just say I am thinking of you - sounds like you are having a hard time at the moment. xx

AliB: bless the wee squirrel, but I am sure there was nothing you could do. They literally do just jumpy out of nowhere. I hope your wee flash-backs don't last too long - it wasn't your fault. xx

Last week, due to family commitments, I had to inform our lovely Cheryl that I can't attend CiN this year. I am absolutely gutted to say the least. So many people I was looking forward to seeing again, so many people I was looking forward to meeting. And, I was planning to hijack Mr Evans!

Cheryl, thank you for being so understanding - organising something like this must be a complete nightmare at times. xx

Not long until the Big Day for the Radio 2 bloggers, I wonder who I will get when I phone in with my pledge?!

Can I just say: happy birthday Mr Bids! Hope you have a lovely day!

Sezza: I heard Graham yesterday reading your son's text. Graham absolutely loved it, it make him giggle so much!

Last, but certainly not least, what a terrible shame for Wales yesterday. I couldn't watch the game, I would have been too nervous, but I was really sorry to hear the final result - it would seem they really were "done" out of a place in the final.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

    Morning all,

Well I woke up to a gloriously sunny day and then someone decided to turn on that huge big shower in the sky!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

This years strictly is shaping up to be my favourite. I have to say I’ve not been a fan of Alex Jones but I am really warming to her and Len really summed up her dance this week it was β€œsimply beautiful.” And how nice to see our lovely Lynn Bowles in the audience – lucky lady getting one of the best seats in the studio.

Fellow Downton fans – what an episode last night? When I saw the clips from next week I wanted to fast forward lol.

JG- sorry to hear your news xx

Bids – belated birthday wishes to Mr Bids sounds like he had a wonderful day.

Maddy – I haven’t been watching the X-Factor but I did enjoy Chris’ column this week.

Ali – sorry to say but I too have had to pull out of CiN. I am absolutely distraught that I will miss it this year but due to circumstances at work it’s just not going to be possible :o(

    Have a good day folks!
