Hi Chris: what an absolutely fantastic idea/opportunity. How I wish someone had thought of this when I was 12 and wrote my short story about the end of the world ...! Chris, you continue to be a daily inspiration, really you do.

MTF: what a wonderful job you are doing looking after our feathered friends. I feed the birds too, but not as dedicated as you. Years ago, we lived in a flat and the lady downstairs put out, in her garden, a chicken carcass after dinner every Sunday. Result: 10,000 gulls descending on our wee estate! Slight exaggeration, but only slight!

Annie, think the 8-yr old's website would be ok as long as it's a exciting, funny story about poo!! ;-)

MTF, to answer you question on the last blog, the property was stubborn because it is on the first floor, it has storage heaters, it's not near Clacton, the applicant hasn't sold their house (because they haven't put it on the market!) and it was too quiet!!

All reasons given by people on our waiting list who said they wanted a property on this estate but not this one!

A nice lady is now taking it so fingers crossed it all goes through ok

Oz, it is but part of my job is letting the properties - I have flats and a few bungalows - when they are vacant

This flat has been empty for a while as people put their name on the waiting list then when you offer them something, it isn't quite what they want!

MC: it is definitely not under my bed, I know, I have looked in everything I've put under there. It wasn't shredded pre move either. So it's either in a box that failed to move with me (and I'm sure there's one or two of those, I just have to suss what I'm missing and then ask for it...) or it failed to move from my parents to me in the first place (which there's an even better chance of!). It'd be interesting to find it again, see what my 12 year old self thought of the world, I think I was into Sweet Valley High books at that age, so heaven knows what influences there were on my writing ;)

Baggy - thanks ever so much for yesterday; it was great fun, hope we can do it again some time. Jasper is sorry he wasn't as sociable as he usually is. He was still suffering from his overdose of stolen prawns!

I think the children's writing thing is a fabulous idea - hope lots of kids feel inspired to take part. Few things are greater than a child's imagination.

Jasper-dog is 12 - can HE enter? If not, I may have to take issue with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ over its species-ist stance... ;-)

Evening CLP and the bouncing blog, ah the perils of the countable versus the uncountable noun! Just one of the many pitfalls and trick of the English language and it's frankly strange grammar rules!

But don't get me started on misuse of the apostrophe!!!

It is so much warmer here today ,a very noticeable difference.The sun had a little warmth in it yesterday so lets hope it's going to be the same today .

Good morning everyone from a very blustery and overcast Ayrshire.

Bids - What a lovely uplifting post, the days a definately stretching out now, it's starting to get light about 7.30am and it's still fairly light at 5pm.

What a pantomime last night, David and I took the 4 cats and the 2 dogs to the vets for their annual check up/vaccination, not an easy task I can assure you, but that's them all done for another year, and Ellie booked in to get dressed on Friday.

I’ve been lurking around the blog since Chris took over from Terry. I was under the impression that Chris actually posted items to the blog and not just a few words at the beginning (probably not even written by him!)

The blog seems to have very little to do with Chris and his programme and is more of a social network for a small number of people.

Maybe that’s the reason it seems quieter than usual. Potential bloggers may be put off by this.

Just my opinion.

The problem was nothing to do with posts on this blog, some people have one set of rules for themselves and another set for others. I'm still very upset, but I will get over it and still intend to have a bit of fun at times!

I'm here CG, but not 100% ....

Remember the tonsilitis episode last week? Finished the antibiotics on Friday, had a nice weekend and then Sunday pm the barbed wire feeling returned to my throat. When I woke up yesterday morning I was in agony, but went to work nonetheless. Then went to the docs mid morning who immediately sent me to the local hospital for a blood test for suspected Glandular Fever (why I capitalised that I don't know!).

When I woke up this morning I felt like my throat had actually closed up. I feel tired, hot, cold, up, down, hungry, sick, in, out ..... to be honest, I really don't know how I feel other than fed up.

Just phoned the docs for test results to be told by the receptionist that their "system is down" so she can't give me any results until tea time today. I said could a good old-fashioned phone call be made to the hospsital so that at least we might know what treatment I need, and if it is GF, I can tell work how long I'm going to be off for. But no, I have to ring back at tea time today, and if the system is still down, I then have to wait 3 days for the results to get returned to the GP by post.

This is NOT helping my mood or mindset one tiny ickle bit.

Sorry to bring the blog down. I'm not a very good patient at the best of times and Nic has already told me off twice today for (1) sorting out some washing to go in the machine, and (2) planning to nip out to Wickermans shop - apparently I'm to stay in the warm and he will go buy the ice cream, noodles and my nans birthday present.

Not had time to catch up properly with all of your goings on, so big huggles to anyone who needs them (and I include myself in there!), Chrissie and CG - hope things are ok with you and your respective families, and Debs - good luck on Day 1 of the New Job! Go show 'em what you're REALLY made of!
