Good Charlotte - 'Keep Your Hands Off My Girl'

Good CharlotteThis reminds me of when I fancied one of those BN biscuits I used to like, you know – the ones with the smiley chocolate faces? When I did eventually track down a packet you can imagine my disappointment when I found that the darn things actually tasted nowhere near as good as I remembered... in fact they were pretty awful.

Not repulsive, but a definite disappointment after all that anticipation. And that’s a bit like the Charlotte’s new single. Eagerly awaited, but with the waiting comes expectation, and then, sadly, disappointment.

Obviously that wasn’t their intention, and there’s no denying that this track has a lot of new stuff going on, the issue is whether it’s your kind of new stuff. You can tell they wanted to send a message, something like “Hey we’re back we have a new cool drummer and a new cool sound!†But it’s just not translated as well as they may had hoped.

It's possibly because of the Justin Timberlake style ‘aha's, or the dreary monotone vocals (when we know the band can do great meldies), or maybe the emo ‘gangsta’ speeches which just aren’t as fun and bouncy as they should be.

Not to worry too much mind, sneaky snippets of the album do hint we won’t be disappointed for long, I’ll just go put my t-shirt somewhere safe for now…

Two starsReleased: March 12th

i love them. so they arent like they used to be, dont judge it from one song. i love this song and the song "the river".
i hate how everyones like "its different from the last album"

unless you want to buy the same album twice, stop complaining.

This song is amazing! I realise I am abit late in commenting on this post, but I dint like it when it first came about. It's only after like, 6/7 months that I've started to realise how good it is. I was never really a big GC fan, but I really like this album.
