In honour of the ChartBlog Fall Out Boy interview situation, I declared that today is officially ROCK DAY. And as such, here's a lovely example of what I believe 'the kids' are calling 'screamo'. And if it's not an example of that, it damn well should be, bearing in mind all the screaming and stuff...

And by GOLLY this lot know how to scream. It's like the Automatic doing their most slick-free moments, only with two Pennies and no Tom, and great big treacly slabs of guitar, and some SUPERPOP bits where the band all scream "fi-YERR, fi-YERR, fi-YERR" at once. And you need these melodic hooks to hang on to, otherwise it would just be a big shouty mess.
Speaking of which, there's a bit, just before the end, which sounds exactly like Satan having a massive tantrum in a landslide (presumably his mum wants hell tidied up and he wants to go out shoplifting with his mates). And against all possibly odds and logic, it's BRILLIANT.
If 2007 is going to carry on like this, the two things you're going to need are endless energy for throwing yourself about, and earplugs. BRING IT ON!
