Scissor Sisters - 'Land Of A Thousand Words'

Well, these guys sure can change a mood. We were still bopping around to their last single before we heard this. Now they’ve taking things slow and left us in some sort of sad daze wondering when the song actually finished.

It's comfort more than fireworks with this one. It opens with some gorgeous shimmery lyrics that end up enveloping you in sentimental gloominess. While the sultry mood does continue with the help of some vintage ballad moves from the piano and guitar, the drama soon wears off. Which is even gloomier than the gloominess of the gloomy music (sniff!).

Mind you, they did say they didn't feel like dancing last time around. It's just no-one knew they were serious enough to make everyone else want to stop too. But it's fine - nothing like a curl up on the sofa with a box of chocolates, right?
