U2 and Green Day - 'The Saints Are Coming

U2 and Green DayNot, in case you were wondering, a tale of dire warning that the Appleton sisters have finally made up with Shaz and Mel, this is a cover of an old song by '70s punkers the Skids, released to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

And even though U2's chiming guitars begin the song, and Bono's meaty vocals can be heard mid-way through the first verse, in reality the whole damn shooting-match belongs to Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong has just the right mixture of howling outrage and apocalyptic fury in his voice, and it's pretty clear which band is moving into which band's musical territory. Good job too!

And if Nic and Shaz and co don't use this as their intro music on a forthcoming tour, they're even more stupid than Nat looked in the jungle.

Released: November 6th
