Comments

  • Comment number 1.

One extra stream for the Commonwealth Games then. It's like back in the nineties when at times we had the luxury of such events being on both Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ1 and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ2!!!

It's unbelievable a year on no progress has been made on this issue - it really isn't beyond the realms of feasibility at all for space for at least one further channel to be found on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ mux, both in pre and post DSO areas.

Also - switching sides for a minute to Sky/Cable but a real shame the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ don't bother tailoring the multiscreen (and indeed interactive text pages) to each event now. Everything other than sport on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button gets a tailored look (the Merlin quiz looks brilliant BTW!), but these big events on which the service made it's name just get the same old tired generic layout everytime.

  • Comment number 2.

F1 fans to loose out again ?

Looking ahead at the schedule for 301 on Freeview, there's no F1 Forum scheduled for the Japanese Grand Prix. It would be around 9.15 am, after the race. I have nothing against the Commonwealth Games coverage, but surely an hour can be spared for the F1 Forum. Sky Sports now has the bandwidth that could have allowed re-instatement of 302 on Freeview and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ still haven't published their Red Button review. Will the closure of analogue channels allow 302 to come back? Probably not......

  • Comment number 3.

And even more annoying the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ have struck another deal with Arquiva and OFCOM for a third new stream - yet looks like that's going to the highest bidder too rather than being used to reinstate lost services.

  • Comment number 4.

As I work long and varied hours I depend on the red button to catch up on sports events I have missed.
Mainly the F1, excellent coverage, and MotoGP, less than excellent.
Last week you had a channel covering the same concert for 14 days, rubbish, now we have CWG showing on almost every channel, and the usual, much loved, previous GP feature is missing.
MotoGp reruns were dropped, why? The coverage is great but the after race reruns seem to have been replaced with, well, rubbish basically. And how about a previous MotoGP feature?

Maybe you should consider having one channel dedicated to Motor Sports, and re-runs, one for music and the others for current events, music, sports etc...

Here's to a long and successful future, and improved schedule planning.
