Here's our regular look at what's coming up under the red button...
Glastonbury*
This year Glastonbury turns 40 and to celebrate
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button will be showing performances from more than 50 bands.
Leave your wellies on the porch, grab your remote and press red as 6 Music
DJs Craig Charles, Cerys Matthews and Tom Ravenscroft guide you through
the music and festival delights.
This year we'll be showing highlights from a star-studded line-up which
includes Gorillaz, Vampire Weekend, Florence and the Machine, Muse, The
xx, Stevie Wonder, LCD Soundsystem, Paloma Faith, La Roux, Orbital, Faithless,
Slash, Grizzly Bear and the Pet Shop Boys. More details on the artists and

Glastonbury website.
And keep an eye out for Tom Robinson who'll be showcasing the most exciting
new music from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Introducing stage for the first time.

Wimbledon*
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button is back at the All England Club
for coverage of this year's Wimbledon. We'll be offering a choice of up
to six live matches, plus a highlights service and replays of the top matches.
Viewers will also be able to enjoy a choice of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ commentary or a court-side
no-commentary option during the Finals. When there is coverage on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One
and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two, Freeview will offer a choice of up to four matches.
A digital text service will also be available with news, results and score
updates. The red button team will also make available two complete matches
per day for inclusion in the iPlayer service.

World Cup 2010*
For the 2010 FIFA World Cup viewers with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Red Button will have access to a host of features including interactive
coverage during live games, alternative commentaries and rolling highlights.
Availability of Red Button content will vary depending on the digital TV
provider, but they will include the following: Live coverage of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ matches,
which feature alternative audio options, including the Radio 5 Live commentary
team and Radio 1 stars Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave. There will also be
full replays of selected matches. At the end of the group stages viewers
can choose between live coverage of two concurrent matches.
Highlights from all matches will be available after the final whistle and
there'll also be rolling highlights and goal clips to help you easily catch
up on the main action.
Sky, Virgin and Freesat viewers can also see a dedicated news channel,
updated daily, with reports and information on Fabio Capello's men in Rustenburg,
news from Motty's World Cup and other features.

Alan Davies' Armchair World Cup*
Having given the 5 live audience a taste of peering
into the studio during Danny Baker and 606 phone-ins under the red button,
we've decided to set Alan Davies loose in full technicolour too with his
new series Alan Davies' Armchair World Cup.
Viewers can sit back to watch Alan sporting lurid football shirts every Sunday from 1100-1200. He's joined by comedian Ian Stone and DJ Tayo Popoola with a quirky look at the tournament so far and a preview of the week ahead.
Audiences can also catch up on the the weekend's football tables, fixture
lists, sports news and details of upcoming upcoming commentaries on the
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

CBeebies Red Button
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button welcomes younger viewers and grown-ups
with a sense of adventure to a big, bright and fun new world. The CBeebies
interactive service has relaunched!
Now your children's favourite characters are at the heart of the interactive
TV experience. A big, new and bright carousel now greets visitors providing
easy access to games, other children's interactive services such as karaoke
or quizzes, birthdays and star of the week messages.
Different Games
Reflecting the popularity of games for the young audience, a new range of
activities has been specially created. The updated service brings with it
brand new games for some of the most popular shows on CBeebies, including
In The Night Garden and The Green Balloon Club. These new
games replace the old ones, which had become increasingly outdated.
Satellite and digital terrestrial viewers will have slightly different offerings from one another. This has enabled us to offer the best games tailored to each system.

F1 fans can customise their viewing experience via the red button with access
to all on-track sessions including Friday and Saturday practice and qualifying
with re-runs of classic GPs also available in the build-up to the main event.
On race day itself a choice of three streams will be available featuring
split-screen in-car camera feeds, leaderboards and rolling highlights, with
the option to listen to either network or Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live commentary. After
the end of each race on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One there will be an additional interactive
programme analysing the weekend's events and picking up views from the paddock
with race highlights often available the following day.

MotoGP*
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sport will be trackside for every twist and turn of the 2010 MotoGP
championship to as Valentino Rossi looks to defend his title.
Qualifying from every race of the 2010 MotoGP season will be available on
the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sport website (UK users only).
Across Sport we'll also be showing full coverage of the 125cc and Moto2
races, including qualifying. .

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ should never have removed the second channel on Freeview, it is proved time after time. As for Freesat not having access to the SAME interactive programmes that are delivered on the SAME satellite is madness?

And as ranted earlier, the World Cup interactive text service is appalling this year. Very clunky with you having to go through several menus to get the most basic of info (like tables, fixtures), with a fixture guide that doesn't know what order the days of the week should be in. Very poor in comparison to previous tournaments where it had a simple interface with all key data accessed from one menu.

The second multiplex becomes the HD multiplex. To get HD, you lose the interactive stream.

eg , for the montreal F1 race I checked to see the timings ... no F1 practise on the sports multiscreen ! must be because it is from canada I thought , don't understand why but......
afterwards I found out that the sesions WERE shown
this weekend I looked to see the timings of the motogp practise sessions ...none listed ; so I checked later at the time I guessed it should be , and it was being shown !
don't you wish people to know what you are going to show ? is it secret ? not everyone has 24/7 access to the internet to look at anything you post there , some have no access at all
