Also not mentioned at all is the public value test which the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has to conduct before closing a service down. They quietly forgot about that.
It's almost as if the vastly over-paid Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ management (half a million each on average) are trying to hide the fact that 6music is unique, high-quality and distinctive but also very low in cost.

The Media Guardian interview linked to is not about radio or 6music. It's about the implications of the strategy review for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Online.
There are many other places to discuss 6music including the one I linked to above. I don't want this blog to become yet another one.
Constant arguing with the host, disputing editorial decisions on this blog and abuse of the host makes this blog a less pleasant and useful place for other people who may wish to discuss things which are on topic (e.g. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Online).
So rsf77 and boilerplated - will you please stop sniping. This kind of disruptive behaviour is against the house rules.

Last time I looked I can receive 6music on my DAB radio, internet and virgin media connections. Each of which I consider to be a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ digital service and therefore within the scope of this blog. If it isn't then please clarify that box.
6music even appears in the tag cloud for this blog at the bottom of the page!

One of the most interesting items in this - for me and many others - is the way this presents the strategy review and it's relation to the changing role of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's digital radio stations. That's why it got picked up here on here.
Anyway, back to the 'online' content... what is the beeb planning on doing with all the rich content that we've paid hundreds of thousands to create and is now going to be 'switched off' in the 200+ sites that are for the chop? Given the recent press regarding the British Library struggling to maintain a record of our Internet presence it would be good to know how this could be preserved.

Much of the current Sport site lacks links with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Broadcast output which seems to be the criterion for having a web presence. So I assume much of that will disappear except again for football.
I expect forums not linked specifically to broadcast programmes will also go like the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Blogs unless they can be linked to specific output. Nick Robertson will have to start by saying "as I was saying last night on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News at 9pm"... and comments will not be allowed on blogs.
This seems to be the implications which represent many of the things which Murdoch wants!

I note this week you launched the Beta Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔpage and that no longer features any of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ blogs.
Not only was it excluded from the customise options I did not even see any obvious links to the blogs from the Beta Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔpage.
(I did post a similar comment but in an older blog /blogs/bbcinternet/2010/02/a_new_global_visual_language_f.html however I thought this current blog is more likely to be seen, at least by those not using the Beta Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔpage!)
