THIS WEEK

The Broadcast award winners 2014 were announced at a ceremony last week and penned by David Walliams and starring Hugh Bonneville.

Surely the most anticipated part of the weekend’s programming was the start of the 22nd, from Sochi in Russia. Clare Balding presented live and Team GB’s Jenny Jones won Britain’s first ever medal on snow – bronze in the Slope style snowboarding.

The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Trust announced at the beginning of the week that it will mount .

On Monday we learnt that to take on a new role within the corporation as Controller, Special Projects and Seasons.

Tuesday saw blog editor Jon Jacob getting when HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall paid a visit to New Broadcasting House.ÌýWe collated a handful of memorable tweets with pictures taken by the Â鶹ԼÅÄ's photographer Jeff Overs.

Tuesday was also Internet Safety day and we published two blogs to mark it: one from , executive producer from Â鶹ԼÅÄ Learning outlining the content and history of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s involvement in the awareness day, and a post from About the Â鶹ԼÅÄ producer Hannah about .

Comedy fans were smiling on Tuesday when the third series of US comedy returned to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Four at 9pm. WhilstÌýWednesday saw the explosive return of gripping police drama Ìýon Â鶹ԼÅÄ Two. The show's creatorÌý about writing series two.

Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 1 and 1Xtra have opened their doors to audiences this month in which runs throughout February, you can read our blog about it from .

We’ve also two blogs sign-posting interesting interviews given by Director-General Tony Hall about , and Director of Television Danny Cohen about .

At the end of the week Â鶹ԼÅÄ Worldwide announced a marathon screening of theÌý at the Prince Charles Cinema in London and Â鶹ԼÅÄ Media Centre revealed that the spring would include footage, initially thought lost, from a 1959 broadcast of Sleeping Beauty starring Margot Fonteyne.

NEXT WEEK

The ceremonyÌýwill be held on Sunday Ìý16 February at London's Royal Opera House and broadcast on , preceeded by from 8.30pm on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Three.ÌýÌýwill take a break this week to make way for the BAFTAs and if that leaves your buckles with swash withdrawal, you’ll be pleased to hear the programme has beenÌý.

On Monday at 9pmÌý airs a one off documentary.ÌýÌýis the first Â鶹ԼÅÄ commission from NBC News' Peacock Productions. This is followed by the final episode of the new comedy series Uncle.

Wednesday sees more envelopes being opened, with two lots of award ceremonies. willl take place at London Hilton and we wish our Â鶹ԼÅÄ colleagues who are nominated all the best. Simultaneously, over at the Royal Albert Hall, or Kensington Village Hall as folk music performers fondly refers to it, the Ìýwill be in full swing. We'll have a blog from Radio 2's Editor of Specialist Music, Al Booth, on Monday.

Finally, on Friday gives viewers another chance to see coverage from the General Election from 40 years ago, will be broadcast from 9am on the channel.
