Red Button gets green fingered this week as the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show invites you to vote for your favourite garden in the People’s Choice Award. There’s also plenty for music fans to enjoy, with the return of Radio 1’s Big Weekend from Glasgow and the chance to relive the excitement of pop princess Kylie Minogue’s intimate Radio 2 concert.

Chris Beardshaw and Ann Marie Powell profile sixteen show gardens for the People’s Choice Award over three consecutive days. Five gardens will be shown on Monday, five on Tuesday and the final six on Wednesday. A medley of all 16 gardens will be showcased on voting day.

Thursday is voting day of the People’s Choice Award. Chris Beardshaw tours all 16 show gardens. Voting runs from midday to midnight via the Â鶹ԼÅÄ phone line or the website bbc.co.uk/Chelsea

Thursday 22 May, 12pm – 12am

On Friday, the winner of the People’s Choice Award is revealed. Professional plant grower Billy Carruthers shares his memories and tells why there’s nothing better than a career in horticulture.

Radio 1 Big Weekend

Radio 1’s Big Weekend returns for three days of live music, coming this year from Glasgow. Tune in to the Red Button each evening from Friday 23until Sunday 25, to enjoy an amazing line-up of artists including Coldplay, One Direction, Kings of Leon and Chvrches.Ìý

Friday sees live coverage of DJ sets from the Main Stage, whilst Saturday and Sunday bring you highlight sets from more than 25 artists across the Main and In New Music We Trust stages.Ìý

Radio 2 In Concert withÌý Kylie Minogue

Jo Whiley hosts a very special In Concert with Kylie Minogue live from Â鶹ԼÅÄ Maida Vale Studios.Ìý The Princess of Pop performs a career-spanning set before an intimate audience including songs from her new album Kiss Me Once.

Sport highlights

There’s coverage of both the men’s and women’s races from the World Triathlon Series in Japan, as well as the women’s apparatus and team finals of the 2014 European Gymnastics Championships, which are taking place this year in Sofia. There’s also live Diamond League action from Shanghai.
