The paper fold becomes a shape's line of symmetry. Discover just how many interesting shapes you can create with this one simple technique.

Want to cut holes?
You will need:
Paper or card
A pencil
Scissors
A ruler
A picture
Clips
Let’s go!
Line up and fold (paper)
Press (in the middle, then out to the sides)
Draw from the middle fold.
Cut!
Tricky corners?
Stop and turn gently.
Don’t rush!
Unfold!
Using a picture?
A symmetrical shape
Find the line of symmetry.
Draw it with a ruler.
This is your fold line!
(Half of your shape)
Trace around it.
(Card or paper)
Fold in half.
Slide into the picture.
Clip together.
Cut carefully.
Move the paper as you cut.
Or
Try non-symmetrical shapes
Draw a line anywhere to make new shapes!
