Sailmaker - Plot

Description

A light-hearted guide to plot in “Sailmaker” by Alan Spence. A narrator takes us through the events of the play step-by-step. He begins with an illustration of Alec in his youth, depicting his close relationship with his cousin and his naïve belief that his father will once again make him proud. We see though, that as Alec grows up he drifts away from his father, becoming increasingly aware that Davie will never be able to escape from his hopeless situation. In contrast, by the end of the play Ian and Billy are closer than ever.
