What is U Takeover?

On September 26 2009 twenty-one young people took control of 1Xtra for the day!

U Takeover was a project run by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 1Xtra & which aimed to inspire up to 25 young people, who were not in full-time education, employment or training, to progress their career options through a three-month training scheme.

They were trained in radio and online production and mentored by 1Xtra producers and DJs including Trevor Nelson, Target and Rampage. At the end of their training their task was to build and produce radio and online content for broadcast, including a pre-recorded live music event at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's famous Maida Vale studios.
