is now accepting applications for their Young Writers’ Workshop 2025. The YWW is a development programme for playwrights aged 18 – 30 who are based in the East. It supports writers to develop a new one-act play with individual coaching & mentoring within a small group setting. The YWW includes sessions with guest writers, expert & peer feedback, and working with actors & director to prepare an extract for rehearsed reading.
All sessions take place in-person at Cambridge Junction, from January – May 2025. Menagerie accepts up to 8 participants.

• A letter of interest (2 pages max) which addresses the following questions:
1) Why do you wish to be part of the Menagerie Young Writers’ Workshop?
2) Which theatre writers or performance practitioners inspire you and why?
• A CV
• A one-page idea for a 45-50 minute play you would want to write
• A sample of your writing – up to 50 pages
