The award winner(s) received a Writer in Residence opportunity with ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Drama in Northern Ireland for a period of six months; a department which has produced , , and .
from Londonderry was the 2014 award winner receiving a Β£2,000 cash prize and the position of Writer in Residence at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland for six months. During that time he gained an introduction to the world of television drama.

Brian McGilloway from Londonderry has been awarded ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland Drama's Tony Doyle New Writers' Award receiving a Β£2,000 cash prize and the position of Writer in Residence at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland for six months. During that time he will gain an introduction to the world of television drama.
