thoughts and feelings in response to it. |

a class, consider other situations where family members might
be separated from each other and the feelings that may be experienced. |

Read
and discuss stories which describe the experiences of children
separated from their parents because of war (eg. The Silver
Sword by Ian Serraillier. This book describes the dangers
faced by three children separated from their parents during
World War II and their long journey to be reunited. Hostage
to War by Tatiana Vassilieva. Set at the time of Germany's
invasion of Russia in World War II, this autobiography describes
Tatiana's struggle to survive without her parents.) |
