Bran Symondson: Afghan Police Photos

To play this content JavaScript must be turned on and the latest Flash player installed.

An exhibition of extraordinary, intimate photographs set to challenge all your preconceptions about what policemen look like.

Bran Symondson was on his last tour of duty serving as a British soldier in Hellmand province, when he became fascinated with the distinctive ethos and way of life of his colleagues in the Afghan National Police force. And so, when they weren't otherwise engaged training or fighting the Taliban, Symondson, a photographer by profession, started taking their pictures.

Immortalising his Afghan colleagues in their down time, sitting around, drinking tea or quite literally taking a moment out to smell the roses. Anna McNamee met Bran in London's where his exhibition is on.
