If you are situated away from Wales, or are unable to travel to research your family history yourself, you may wish to involve others in your quest - though this may incur a charge. Public records offices may search their records for you for a small fee, whilst may be of interest if you are willing to commission work.
Tracing international ancestors may seem like a daunting task but there are many avenues you can try. For US immigrants, Ellis Island in New York was the main port, with 22 million people passing through the port between 1892 and 1924. If you know your family departed for America you could try searching the online. The also has a dedicated section on international family history research.
