Dawid Kimberg was born in Johannesburg and attended the Drakensberg Boys' Choir School, before studying at the Royal College of Music with Ryland Davies.
On graduating from the Benjamin Britten Opera School in 2006 Dawid joined the National Opera Studio, and attended the Aix-en-Provence Festival Academy in 2008.
Operatic roles include Count (Le nozze di Figaro) and Ottone (L'incoronazione di Poppea) for the Benjamin Britten Opera School, Duke (RomΓ©o et Juliette) for British Youth Opera, Bruno (Parthenogenesis by James MacMillan), Masetto (Don Giovanni) at the Purcell Room, Morales (Carmen) with Glyndebourne on Tour and Adonis in Blow's Venus and Adonis.
Concert performances include Carmina Burana for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Creonte in Haydn's Orfeo ed Euridice in Moscow, St John Passion and Easter Oratorio in Norway, Messiah with Sir David Willcocks, Mass in B minor at Wells Cathedral and Brahms' Requiem.
Recitals include performances of Die SchΓΆne Mullerin in Aberdeen and London. In addition he has performed works by Schumann, Wolf, Brahms, Beethoven, Mahler, Finzi, Britten, FaurΓ© and Duparc.
Future appearances include Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Nicholas McGegan and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. Dawid joins the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House in September.
He enjoys cooking, reading, theatre and going to the gym.
