Ekaterina Scherbachenko completed her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory with Professor Marina Alekseeva in 2005 and joined the Stanislavsky Opera Company. At the Conservatory she performed Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Mimi (La bohème) and at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre, Lidochka in Shostakovich's Moskva, Cheremushki and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte).

In 2005, she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre, as Natasha (War and Peace). She then joined the Bolshoi company and roles she performs there include LiΓΉ (Turandot), MicaΓ«la (Carmen), Iolanta (Iolanta) as well as Natasha, Tatyana and Mimi.

Concert performances include Rakhmaninov's The Bells and JanÑček's Glagolitic Mass. Ekaterina has also worked at Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Scottish National Orchestra in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Conductors include Alexander Vedernikov, Yuri Temirkhanov, Alexander Lazarev, JiΕ™Γ­ BΔ›lohlΓ‘vek and Mikhail Jurowski.

Ekaterina's awards have included third prize at Shizuoka International Opera Competition, 2005 and various prizes at the Francisco ViΓ±as International Singing Competition, 2006.

Future plans include touring with the Bolshoi in 2009, asTatyana, to Tokyo, La Scala Milan and Lyublyana. In her spare time, Ekaterina enjoys reading and travelling.
