As he walks through the underground passage at the prison, James Boyce recounts the stories of famous 18th Century executions in Downpatrick, County Down. He also lists some of the 200 crimes that were punishable by death, including wearing a disguise and cutting down young trees.

The Man from God Knows Where refers to the ballad written by Florence Wilson about Thomas Russell, a founder and leading member of the Society of United Irishmen, who was executed for high treason after the failed uprising in 1803.

Recorded circa 1960.
