<colin_hill> There is no advertised parking at the start, but lots at the finish.
<colin_hill> Jeff, what time are you planning on this year??

<jenny_walton> i wonder if extra precaution have been taken after last years fatalities?
<Jeff_Brown> I did learn a valuable lesson about training runs! I'd gone out without my mobile, wiht no money in my pocket and without telling my wife where I was going. Had to hobble four miles home, gotback about an hour after I said I'd be home - and it didn't go down very well with the missus (who was a bit worried...which was nice, I suppose).
<D_H> did you stop for a pint?

<colin_hill> Every year we improve the event and this year is the same.Μύ Sadly nothing that we did or didn't do would have changed what happend last year, but I'll mention a few new ideas that are happening this year
<ian_donaldson> what made you decide to do the run to start off with jeff
<Jeff_Brown> I was on the John Reid Road at the time - which is a pub-free zone! (though I seem to recall someone had set up a stall, offering lager to the runners near the Temple Park Leisure Centre last year, which was very tempting...)
<colin_hill> One new drink station on the route for a starter, plus 2 of the drink stations will be lucozade sport.
<jenny_walton> that is good news getting drinks sponsored.
<Jeff_Brown> I enjoyed it so much last year, Ian, I thought I just had to do it again. I ran the first 5 (1981-86), then again in '88 - but hadn't done it for 17 years. I'd reported on it for TV, but I'd forgotten just what great fun it is to take part. Devastated that I'll be a spectator again this year.
