If your child has a disability or complex needs, it can be really easy to worry that you or others might treat them differently. Am I dressing them okay? Will this outfit attract too much attention? Am I over thinking this? Will they fit in with others their age? Or what do I do if they act in a way that others don’t understand? It’s natural to worry about these kinds of things. Your child may be different to other children, which will mean your approach to parenting might be different too. You can’t always change how other people act, but there are lots of things you can do to help your little one. Grow their confidence, help build their self-esteem, support them in making new friends and tell them how much they’re loved. Every child is different but no one knows your child better than you.
