These festive pastry rolls are the most delicious way to use up your Christmas Day leftovers. This recipe is from mum and weaning influencer Sian Stephanie, one half of to make a toddler-friendly festive feast.

Pastry bites packed with all the flavours of a Christmas dinner, these are bound to be a hit with the whole family and a great way to use up any uneaten food.

All you need is a bowl of leftovers and a ready-made roll of puff pastry.

Method

Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan.

Chop, mash and mix your leftovers together.

Roll out your puff pastry and cut it in half lengthways.

Add a small layer of bread sauce and/or gravy along the top half of both strips of pastry, then layer on your leftovers mixture. You can even finish your filling with some small dollops of cranberry sauce.

Fold the bottom half of each pastry strip over the filling, before pressing down gently with a fork along the open edge to seal your rolls closed.

Cut each roll into your desired size and optionally brush the tops with some beaten egg.

Cook for 15 minutes until golden on top and then enjoy your yummy festive bites. A perfect lunchtime picky plate option for the whole family.

These can be stored wrapped in tin foil in the fridge for up to 3 days (if they last that long!).
