Having a write laugh

Please note this competition is now closed.

This Live Lesson for 13-15s is themed around comedy writing, and was originally designed to support the 鶹Լ’s Comedy Classroom writing competition in 2016.

The programme introduces some of the key literacy themes required in comedy writing for stand up, sketch and captions.

It's presented by 鶹Լ Radio 2’s Sara Cox and award-winning comedy writer-performer London Hughes, the Live Lesson features comedians Isy Suttie, Gemma Whelan, Tiernan Douieb and Johnny and Inel.

Comedy plays with language, content, grammar and audience awareness to create laughs and can be a great asset in the classroom as it harnesses many key writing skills.

This edited programme was first streamed live to schools in May 2016. Please note that we are no longer reviewing emails and messages from schools for inclusion in the lesson.
