In the first half Ferne Corrigan explains the main features of the four main layers of the rainforest giving facts and figures as well as examples of plants and animals found in each layer of the rainforest.
The second half has a focus on the Teak tree, discussing how it has adapted to flourish in this tropical biome, followed by the Indian Elephant and human geography.
We focus on the Indian Elephant’s adaptations that have enabled it to survive in this hot and humid environment, and then on the resources such as food and materials that humans take from the tropical rainforest whilst addressing the impact of deforestation on the future of the biome.

Students could investigate the different layers and try to place the correct plants, insects and animals in the specific layers of the rainforest they belong.
