How did you rate the 2008 Ipswich Mela?

SINGH IS KING
The Ipswich Mela grows stonger year by year. This Year their was large variety of different music bringing a wide scope of indian Bhangra, Classical, Dance, Hindi and orginal themes. However Bhangra being the most Danceable music, I would like to see DCS, Jassi Sidhu, Malkit Singh, Shinda bust some big tunes on the stage next year. These Bands just SMASH it everytime they play.

KrithiShruthiu both neeed to look d way the promoters do...dey wantt ppl to attend der gigz andd d only way to push der melaaaa iz by putting D STYLE OF MUZIK OR DANCE DAT D PPL LIKE. . .and in u.k. if u look at d history bhangra has alwayz beeen number 1 4om indian arts. . .i do know wer u comin 4om but bhangraaz d best at d moment. . . safe x

Mela was really good...with amazing collection of songs by Sridevi-Vijayendra....but the bhangra and bhangra culture was too much to bear...organisers should remember India is not all about bhangra...

A brilliant Day for all my family, Britain at its best! Race, Colour or Religion side by side just having a good time in the park. Well done to everyone involved.Can’t wait for next year when it will be even bigger I hope.

Mela was good...but tooooooo much focus and tooo biased towards punjaabi and bhangra...bhangra is not the only art/music form of india...The other singers...Vijendra and Sridevi were really really good....they could have performed more...instead of all punjabi and bhangra monopoly...

Excellent event all round. Shows how Indian culture has such great colour, spice and hospitality. It can be a window for celebrating the rich diversity of Britain, even helping local citizens learn about ethical food, lifestyle and family and community spirit. The media like Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ should facilitate such programmes and involve the Indian community.
