Suffolk at the Sony's

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Suffolk has been in London for the 27th annual Sony Radio Academy Awards after the Don't be a Tosser anti litter campaign was nominated for the Community Award.

The prestigious event took place on Monday 11 May at the Grosvener Hotel and was hosted by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2's Chris Evans.

The awards recognised the cream of radio talent in the UK and were for both national and local radio.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Suffolk is no stranger to the Sony's. In 2003 Mark Murphy was judged as News Broadcaster of the Year, in 2004 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Suffolk was the UK Radio Station of the Year (in its size category) and in 2008 the station scooped its third Sony gold for its outside broadcast from Jamestown in the USA about Bartholomew Gosnold.ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ

Don't be a Tosser was launched early in 2008 after Mark Murphy and his breakfast show colleagues were appalled by the amount of rubbish piling up on the side of the roads in Suffolk.

Since then local authorities and residents have sprung into action and made the county a cleaner, greener place to live.ΜύΜύ
