Leigh Leopards will be without forward Tom Amone for around two months after he sustained a foot injury.

The 27-year-old has made just two appearances for the Leopards this season but will be out until May.

"It looks like Tom has broken a bone in his foot, so he will be out for eight weeks plus," boss Adrian Lam said.

"It's not good news. It's another one on the list. He's pretty devastated about it because it's in a position where it's difficult to address."

Meanwhile, half-back Lachlan Lam could return to face Featherstone on Saturday when the Leopards begin their defence of their Challenge Cup title.

Lam has been missing since Leigh's defeat by Leeds on 8 March after suffering a deep cut to his leg.

"He should be available for the game. We'll give him most of this week. He ran today which is a positive sign for us," Lam told Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Manchester.

"Whether or not the doctor feels it's risky on Saturday then if it is we won't risk him but if he's at 70 or 80% I think he'll play."
