British flyweight Muhammad Mokaev will fight Alex Perez at the UFC's Apex in Las Vegas on 2 March.

Mokaev, 23, is aiming to preserve his undefeated record in his first fight of the 2024.

American Perez is a seasoned flyweight and was world title challenger in 2020.

But the 31-year-old has competed just once since that defeat, suffering another loss in 2022 to Alexandre Pantoja, who has since gone on to .

Dagestan-born Mokaev is one of the most talented stars of British MMA and had hoped to become the UFC's youngest ever champion.

Two-weight champion Jon Jones currently holds that record having been 23 years and 242 days old when he won his first light-heavyweight championship.

Mokaev turns 24 in July and only made his UFC debut two years ago.

The flyweight contest against Perez was due to feature on the UFC's first event in Saudi Arabia but that card has now been moved to the end of June.

Mokaev is on a run of six wins since a no-contest in 2021 and has five finishes in that time.

Perez is vastly more experienced than Mokaev, with 31 fights on his record and 24 wins.
