Cardiff Devils have re-signed Canadian forward Tyler Busch ahead of the new Elite League season.

The versatile 28-year-old scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in 53 games last campaign.

A shoulder injury saw Busch miss 15 games, but his return to action in the closing weeks of the season saw him lead Devils in the play-offs with three goals in four games.

"Tyler can play anywhere up and down the line-up and in any forward position. He is a big body, that gets to the net and battles hard in the tough areas all over the ice," said Devils head coach Pete Russell.

“We really missed him on the ice when he was injured last season, and we really missed his presence in the locker room. He is a natural leader and a phenomenal teammate.”

Meanwhile fellow Canadian forward Trevor Cox has left Devils.

During his three seasons in Cardiff, Cox scored 63 goals and provided 155 assists in 201 games.

Devils say he is leaving to pursue a job opportunity outside of hockey.
