Bristol City have signed teenager George Earthy from Premier League side West Ham United on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old midfielder made a first-team breakthrough with the Hammers at the end of last season with three substitute appearances, including his first professional goal in a 3-1 win against Luton Town.

“George will add a different dynamic to our attack," said Robins head coach Liam Manning.

"We know he will bring a huge amount of energy when he plays. He has an ability to create."

City started the new Championship season last Saturday with a draw at Hull City, followed by Tuesday night's EFL Cup home defeat by Coventry City.

They play their first home league game of the season this Saturday against Millwall.

Earthy is one of two players in line to make their debuts along with Japanese winger Yu Hirakawa.

Manning has now made four signings in the summer window, having also brought in strikers Sinclair Armstrong, from Queens Park Rangers, and Fally Mayulu, who scored on his debut at Hull last weekend.
