Luton Town Ladies have signed a new agreement with the men's Championship club aimed at boosting their development within the women's game.

They play in the Premier Division of the fifth tier Eastern Region Football League and have won three of their four games at the start of the new season.

Luton also reached the fourth round proper of the FA Cup in 2023-24 before losing to Women's Super League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

"We are all committed to the aim of the Ladies climbing the women’s pyramid but that progress must be both sustainable and progressive, and it is wonderful that the club are investing in the project to help achieve those ambitions," the club said

“Although there has been a formal agreement in place since 2001, the increased level of support will enable us to grow the club faster.

"We have a proven line of talented youth players who have progressed into senior football with their hometown club, and this agreement can only enhance the prospects that these players remain with the club and are able to wear the orange shirt as a senior player."

The new agreement will give Luton Ladies the chance to play home games at Kenilworth Road and access to resources at the stadium.

Luton Town operations director James Mooney said it was important to bring the two clubs closer together.

"The new agreement will add great value to the Ladies in terms of learning how things operate on a professional level, as well as having the support of club staff to help improve their infrastructure and processes," he said.

"This is a way of building on those solid foundations and hopefully leading to more success in the years to come."
