Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior wants a change in the rules after having to watch his team's crucial Championship win at Coventry City from the stands on Wednesday.

Rosenior picked up his third caution of the season at Watford on Saturday, leading to a touchline ban.

However, he is appealing for "common sense" from the authorities after apparently being exonerated in the aftermath of the 0-0 draw.

“A report came from the head of the referees association saying I should not have been booked, but there is no right of appeal,” he told �鶹Լ�� Radio Humberside.

Hull’s play-off hopes would have all but ended had they not won at the CBS Arena on Wednesday.

“I don’t know what I am supposed to do. I don’t get to stand with my team in a game where, if we don’t win, our aims for the season, everything we’ve put in, nine months of hard work [are over]," Rosenior said.

“I’m seething. I am really disappointed. I have spoken to the powers that be about it.”

Rosenior was cautioned by referee Ben Toner during the second half at Vicarage Road after Hull’s appeals for a second penalty kick of the game were dismissed.

“I got a clear report saying I shouldn’t have been booked but, because it is a yellow card and not a red card, like for a player, you can’t appeal it. I am just asking for common sense,” he said.

“If I deserved something or act in an improper way [I’d accept the punishment]. I have already been banned away at QPR and I fought against that because I thought it wasn’t right, how that was handled.

“I don’t want to get into more trouble, but I shouldn’t be in trouble in the first place. I am just really disappointed I don’t get to be on the touchline with my team in a massive game for the club.”
