Teenage defender Harry Dean has signed his first professional contract with Wrexham.

The 18-year-old centre-back has featured regularly for the Under-18s in the last two seasons, making more than 50 appearances and scoring seven goals.

β€œI’m over the moon. Having been at the club from age eight and coming all the way through the academy, it’s a great feeling," Dean told the club's website.

β€œWith everything going on with the club, everyone can see it’s brilliant. It’s an amazing time to be here.

β€œMy aim now is to get into pre-season in good shape and kick on, look at knocking on the door of that first team and see what happens.”

Manager Phil Parkinson said: β€œIt’s good to have players stepping up from the Under-18s. The team was close to winning their league last season and Harry was a key part of that.

β€œNow is the chance for him to step up a level and show us what he can do.”
