Barrow's strong start to the season is causing opponents to show them more respect, according to head coach Stephen Clemence.

They lost 1-0 at home to previously winless Morecambe on Saturday as they had more possession and shots than their opponents, but fell to a late Ben Tollitt goal.

The Bluebirds would have gone top of League Two with victory, but instead slipped to sixth after 11 games.

"People respect us more. They come and try to stop us," said Clemence. "We had it against Cheltenham Town last week, and we had it with Morecambe."

Defeat ended Barrow's unbeaten home run at the SO Legal Stadium but Clemence recognises that his team must find a way to get past packed defences if they are to prosper in League Two this season.

Barrow dominated possession 66.5% to Morecambe's 33.5% and produced 10 shots, five of which were on target.

"You have to find solutions when problems are put in front of you," he told Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Cumbria.

"There are more bodies to go past, people are bring everybody back. They know we're good and they've got a game plan to stop us."
