Torquay United manager Paul Wotton has urged his team to play their style of football after defeat in their second game of the season.

The Gulls went down 1-0 at Farnborough in National League South on Saturday.

Wotton said his team only started looking like themselves in the final quarter of the match.

"We’ve got to keep implementing the style we want," he told �鶹Լ�� Radio Devon.

"We didn’t really do that until the final 25 minutes of the game when we started moving the ball and dragging Farnborough over the pitch and started getting a lot of joy."

It was Wotton's second competitive game in charge of Torquay, after a 2-1 win at home to Enfield on the opening day.

"We didn't do the fundamentals well enough first half," he said.

"I’m convinced we had a stonewall penalty when Cody Cooke is grappled to the ground. But there’s absolutely nothing in the game.

"It’s disappointing because second half I thought we did do enough to get something out of it."

Torquay will travel to Bath City on Tuesday.
