Non-league Alfreton earn FA Cup replay with Walsall

Alfreton Town manager Billy Heath says his side of part-timers "deserve all the credit" as they earned a second-round replay at Walsall.

The Reds battled the League Two side to a goalless draw in front of a packed crowd of 3,000 people on Tuesday.

Alfreton are looking to reach the third round for the first time in their history.

"We won't be going there with a whimper, we still think we can win the tie," Heath told Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Derby.

An away tie at Championship promotion-chasers Southampton is on offer for the winners of the replay.

Despite players arriving at different times for the initial tie, because of their daytime work commitments, it was a game to remember for the home side.

"We've got to remind ourselves that these boys were at work today," added Heath.

"There was an accident on the M18 and I was sat in it, we had a car of players sat in it. What they've put in tonight, what they've done tonight is fantastic.

"I'm really pleased for them all, I'm really pleased for everybody at the club."

The Reds manger said the replay at the Bescot Stadium on Tuesday will be "more difficult" for his players.

"It will be different, I've said to the players it will be different," he continued.

"We won't be going there with a whimper, we still think we can win the tie.

"It will be even more difficult, we know that. We will be going there, again we believe we have a chance."
