An Osman Sow hat-trick inspired Dundee to victory over hapless Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship.

The visitors struck twice in the first 21 minutes in Dumfries during a dominant display.

Former Dundee United forward Sow tapped in his third on 54 minutes, with Connor Shields' late strike nothing but a consolation.

James McPake's men move into a Premiership play-off spot in fourth as Queens remain anchored in 10th.

The Tayside club are now on a four-game undefeated run with Alloa up next.

Queens have lost four games on the bounce, with just one victory all season.
