Burton Albion 2-2 Bolton Wanderers

  • Published

Burton were held to a 2-2 draw by League One's bottom side Bolton at the Pirelli Stadium.

Albion started the better but it was Bolton who went in front in the 20th minute when former Brewers defender Ryan Delaney rose the highest at the back post to head home Ali Crawford's corner for his first goal in a Trotters shirt.

Burton levlled from a corner of their own nine minutes later, John-Joe O'Toole meeting Oliver Sarkic's delivery with a stooping header and Jamie Murphy making sure from close range for the sixth goal of his loan spell from Rangers.

But Bolton were back in front in the 38th minute, Ethan Hamilton latching onto Crawford's ball forward to slot the ball past Ben Garratt in the Burton goal. It was the first time Bolton had scored twice in a game since the start of February, coinciding with their last victory.

Murphy's second goal came 20 minutes into the second half, the Rangers loanee showing good technique to steer Reece Hutchinson's cross home from 15 yards.

Crawford was only denied a goal for himself when Hutchinson headed his effort off the line but neither side could find a winner.
